Autumn’s Best Bits
Even though it can be a little gloomy and rainy, Autumn has it’s merits and brings so much beauty. It was really hard to choose one photo to show my love of Autumn so forgive me if I included a few more.
As soon as the leaves start to fall, my two daughters are the first to go out and search for conkers, like little jewels they collect them up and treasure them. Did you know that there is a myth that putting them outside your doors keeps out the spiders? I do always try to do this but the girls are so reluctant to part with them, so I try to sneak a few to put outside the backdoor.
They have a multitude of uses for my girls, a good game of conkers of course is number one, but they also use them as pieces on their games, snakes and ladders and draughts are the favourites.
The colours of Autumn are just stunning and I love the change in the leaves when Autumn comes, it signifies the beginning of the nights drawing in earlier, getting cosy with your loved ones on the sofa at night, and enjoying a marshmallowy mug of hot chocolate.
At the beginning of October the planning begins for Halloween perfection in our house. Which costumes to wear, the food, new ears! Yes my girls love cats and most years will get dressed up for a Halloween party or a bit of trick or treating with cute cat ears and a black cat costume. It’s fun for them and something that they love to look forward to, and that is Autumn fun for them.
I have written this post for a competition with Sykes Cottages to write a blog post about your idea of Autumn’s best bits. If you too want to join in with the competition go to Sykes Cottages on this link and find out how, if you write a blog you can join in to win a great prizes.
