Two Beauty Boxes From LIB To Try This Month

Latest In beauty have kept a large loyal following by keeping their beauty boxes excellent value with up-to-the-minute brands and product launches. I have been a fan of the LIB beauty boxes for the last couple of years and am never left feeling disappointed or underwhelmed by their boxes and here are two that have really wowed me this month for their quality and value for money. It’s always hard to choose from the selection at LIB but the Spring Edit caught my eye as it was full of useful goodies to take me into Summer and the Precious Petals box with products from L’Occitane I first heard about on Jane Cunningham/British Beauty Blogger’s Periscope, a gorgeous curation of some of the best selling products from the L’Occitane family.

With so many beauty boxes on offer to buy I find it hard to find a box or brand that delivers on value and quality products every time.  I have found with LIB I don’t have that hum-drum factor and underwhelming feeling you can get from a hit and miss beauty box service. It’s really about affordable hair and beauty products that beauty lovers want, they do include some full sized items but even the sample sizes are generous enough to give you plenty of use so you can test them out fully and then see if you want to go ahead and purchase the full sizes.

The Latest In Beauty Glamour Spring Edit
has been reduced in price just recently so now is the time to snap up this brilliant Spring edit as it’s £14.99 reduced from £17.99 and with a value of £79.65 it is incredible value. What you get inside is seven hero products which are ideal for this season all carefully selected by Alessandra Steinherr the Beauty Director of Glamour Magazine especially for this Spring edit.

latest in beauty

Inside The Spring Edit Box:

  • MUA Luxe 10 Shade Palette in either Paradise (plum & copper) or Utopia (bare and nude)
  • Moroccanoil 25ml Light Treatment Oil
  • Illamasqua Precision Ink Eye Liner – Full Size
  • Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser 30ml
  • Bare Minerals Bareskin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation 3ml SPF20
  • Malin+Goetz Vitamin E Face Moisturiser 40ml
  • Rosie For Autograph Nuit EDP 15ml

The MUA palette’s are such great value and these metallic additions are perfect for Spring and really they will last and last and keep you going until next Spring! This palette is so perfect for any makeup bag and with 10 shades to use you can really mix and match to your hearts content and I actually wasn’t too worried about which palette I would get as they both are so versatile and usable. With a slick of Illamasqua Precision Ink Eyeliner on top of the MUA eyeshadow and your good to go! The deep pigment, waterproof formula and full sized too this eyeliner is a beauty for getting a really sharp line as it’s fine nib gives you lots of control, and it really will stay put until you take off your makeup at the end of the day.

From Murad there were two generous items, the first a really thorough exfoliating cleanser which you can use 2-3 times a week to keep the skin looking fresh and much brighter. It is a real powerhouse product which will slough away dead skin cells and prepare the skin for moisturising.  The second item from Murad is a £10.00 off discount card with no minimum spend so you can stock up on your favourite product. Malin+Goetz Vitamin E Moisturiser has such a cult following and after trying out the generous sample size I can see why. It absorbs into the skin really easily is light in texture giving a fairly matte finish which is perfect pre makeup application. A good size for adding a holiday bag too and the 40ml tube would easily last over a two week break.

Bareminerals have a new product the Bareskin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation and it was great to try it out as I had seen it advertised and was intrigued to give it a try. A light formula which is as much a treatment as it is a foundation and it gives a light coverage and feels lovely on the skin. My only problem with the sample was once I had shaken, dotted and buffed it into my skin it was far too dark as I have a really pale complexion. If you find the same issue don’t worry as also in the box is a card to use in-store so you can receive a complementary sample in a shade to suit your complexion.

Lastly a treat for the hair and in the form of the iconic Moroccanoil treatment but in a lighter formula, once you try it you won’t be able to style your hair without it! I loved this addition and the 25ml bottle will last and last and is worth between £13-£14 alone so it is great value. Such a good size to keep in your handbag or take with you on holiday and perfect too if you are new to the gorgeous treatment oil and the lighter formula is just ideal for this season.

The Precious Petals Beauty Box
Spring is here with this pretty box from LIB and the British Beauty Blogger she is everyone’s go-to beauty journalist for all up to date beauty information and has carefully put together this gorgeous box full of products from the L’Occitane family. Jane has curated some really fabulous beauty boxes this year and if you have been following her on Periscope you will have been privy to an early sneaky-peek before the launch of each. Did you manage to get your hands on the Aveda or Clinique boxes as well? They were just as lovely as this #PreciousPetals box and if you are a beauty lover I would whole heartedly recommend following BBB on Twitter and Periscope to keep up to date with the latest beauty news and of course her beauty boxes in collaboration with LIB.
Now I’m going to shock you. There are seven hero L’Occitane products, £10 off Melvita, £10 off Eborian, £10 off L’Occitane and a chance to win £250 simply by sending back your thoughts on the postcard included. The surprise was The Precious Petals Beauty Box was only £20.00! Such brilliant value and what better way to try out a whole range of products from the L’Occitane group and it’s always lovely to find some discount vouchers too. The box itself is a thing of beauty and is so pretty you will not want to recycle this little beauty, the beauty continues inside the box with pretty silk petals which my daughter has already put on her dressing table!
Inside The Precious Petals Box:

  • L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream 30ml £8.00
  • L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil 75ml £7.00
  • L’Occitane Divine Cream 8ml £14.00
  • Melvita Rose Floral Water 28ml £3.00
  • Erborian CC Creme 15ml £17.00
  • Melvita L’Or Bio 17ml £6.50
  • Eborian Camellia Essence  £6.00
  • £10 Off A £30 Spend At Melvita
  • £10 Off A £30 Spend At Eborian
  • £10 Off A £30 Spend At L’Occitane
  • A Postcard For Comments Which Could Win You £250
A think you’ll agree it’s a fabulous beauty box and I was delighted when I learned it was a L’Occitane collection as I love the brand. The first ever L’Occitane product I used was one of their luxurious hand creams so I was so happy to see the Cherry Blossom handbag sized hand cream – it’s scent is so fresh and subtle and is the perfect product to transform dry hands to their soft hydrated selves. A combination of shea butter and utter floral loveliness makes this my new favourite scent and if you are a fan of the matching shower gel you will love this too.
A hero product for so many people the Almond Shower Oil from L’Occitane has a huge following and I can see why. It has a very light but lasting almond scent and when you emulsify with water it changes instantly to a creamy lather, you only need to test it once to notice a difference as it makes the skin silky soft and smooth post shower. 8ml doesn’t sound a lot of the L’Occitane Divine Cream but you only need a really small amount each time you use it so this will last you for at least seven days if using twice a day and longer if using just as a night cream. Packed full of hyaluronic acid and organic immortelle flower essence it’s a rich powerful hydrating cream that is every bit as divine as it’s name. I noticed a difference just using as a night cream after just a few applications – my new found skin saviour!
The refreshing Melvita Rose floral Water is so addictive with a very pure Damask Rose fragrance just a couple of mists over the face and neck will refresh the skin, rid any tight feeling and smell incredible too. Of course if you are not a fan of rose scented products not so ideal but if you are, prepare to love it so much you will want to use your £10 voucher to stock up! To me it’s scent reminds me of childhood days picking pretty pink blooms in my gran’s beloved and beautiful rose garden and for that treasured memory I thank you Melvita – you have bottled it!
I have yet to try anything like Erborian’s CC Creme as it’s a multi-purpose creme which cleverly changes pigment once applied to the skin with it’s ‘encapsulated pigments’. Used as you would a moisturiser it helps to hydrate, protect, illuminate and give a natural light coverage which blends to our skin tone upon application – clever right?! Think Spring fresh skin that is easy to blend high definition style. For my pale skin the result was a little dark but it felt so light and moisturising without feeling filmy or tacky.
Also from Melvita the L’Or Bio is a light oil for the face, body or hair that smells incredible. It’s surprisingly light and rather that leaving the skin really oily it just leaves it feeling soft and hydrated. The scent of bergamot, vanilla, lemon, orange, jasmine and fig really reminds me of sunny Summery days and I love the versatility of this oil giving you the option to use in the hair, on the face or body, a fresh moisturising oil to fall in love with.

Last in the box from Eborian is the camellia essence (DongBaek) and the 3ml sample while diminutive is really concentrated with a powerful performance and scent.  With 73% camellia essense which is rich in fatty acids and used as you would a serum it can help with nourishing skin which is lacking in elasticity . What I found was with just one day’s use my skin felt really soft and smooth and I liked the fact it absorbed right into the skin with no residue, it leaves the skin feeling really silky and the scent is lovely.

So there you have it two fabulous beauty boxes to try out this month, both offering wonderful value for money and full of useful products to take you into Summer. The LIB Glamour Spring Edit won’t be available for too long with Summer nearly here so this is the best time to snap one up especially as it has been reduced to £14.99, I’m glad I bought mine before they discontinued it. The Precious Petals Beauty Box is a delight and a huge thank you to Jane from BBB as her selections are perfect and at £20 the value for money is excellent with a variety of beauty treats from L’Occitane I’m so glad I bought one and I think it would make a great gift idea for someone special, or for yourself.

Take advantage of the no postage costs over £30 at the moment at LIB too and take a look at their great looking The GQ Grooming Power Pack 2016

Love Rose Scented products, Almond shower oil sounds very nice indeed

  23. June 27, 2016 / 8:33 am

i like the colours in the MUA palette , being dark skinned i find a lot of eye colours leave me looking ashy (and retro but not in a good way) if the pigments are not deep enough, and anything containing Loccitane is a win win for me!

These seem a useful way of being introduced to products you perhaps wouldn't try but I often wonder the probability of getting a box where you really didn't like the colours or textures.
