Trunki Paddlepak Review – My Family Ties

Paddlepak Dolphin Splash

Six photos of the Trunki Dolphin paddlepak and a little girl with one on her back

We were kindly sent this Paddlepak to review last week and I have to say that Lara was so excited to try it out having seen the range of Trunki products when we were out and about shopping.  Lara was given the choice of which Paddlepak to choose and she chose the Paddlepak Dolphin Splash in a pretty light aqua blue colour.

Once we received the parcel with the Paddlepak in Lara was keen to explore everything about it and how many pockets it had for all her little essentials.  I have to say she was meticulous at inspecting it, she is a lover of bags and this bag is perfect for swimming and also for a school bag.

Lara is eight and is of slight build with all the gymnastic training she does, however we still had to pull the back straps really tight, so there is ample room for larger and older children to fit the bag. The Paddlepak fitted her really well, in fact her first opinion when she put the bag on was how comfortable the straps were. She is used to carrying a heavy bag with weights in for gymnastics so she said this bag was perfect as the straps are soft and wide which spreads any weight across the shoulders.

Lara swims at our local pool and this was just perfect for taking all the essential swimming things with her, with plenty of room for her towel, swimsuit, shampoo and conditioner, goggles and even a handy pocket for change for the locker in the ‘tail’ of the water resistant Paddlepak Dolphin Splash Bag.

The benefit of the bag being so roomy is that all the essentials can go in as well as any small snacks or a drink bottle you may want to put in too.  The Padded back with the mesh overlay makes the bag really comfortable and soft, and this was one of the features Lara loved as we walk to swimming lessons, which takes about half an hour, so comfort is really important in a swim bag otherwise mum ends up carrying all the bags!

On the back of the bag is a handy feature of a Trunki grip which you an use as a multi-purpose grip for goggles, glasses, sunglasses or if you want to air dry your wet costume while out at the beach, it is ideal.

The way the bag fastens was a big hit with Lara as it is easy to do (no fiddly clasps) and really secure, also within the bag there is a separate handy pocket to separate the dry things from the wet, which is handy.

The Paddlepak Dolphin Splash Bag has been a great success as a swimming bag, and I can already see we will definitely pack this bag when we go on holiday, as it makes a perfect beach bag too. Don’t think that it is just for swimming though, as Lara has been taking it everywhere with her, as a handy bag to keep her things in for days out, trips to the library and even when we had a day out in London to go to The British Museum and it held all her snacks, a magazine for the train, a cuddly toy and her water bottle with ample room for more.

  • Soft wide shoulder straps.
  • Excellent quality water resistant material.
  • A loop to hang the bag up.
  • Shoulder straps which are fully adjustable.
  • Separate compartment within the bag to separate wet from dry.
  • Small dry zip pocket on the bottom of the bag for change etc.
