Top 5 Reasons Why My Spirit Animal Would Be A Cat – My Family Ties

Spirit animals or totem’s are in pagan religions representing the traits and skills that you are meant to learn or to already possess. So by saying that a particular animal is your spirit animal you are letting the world know that animal is a representation of your personality or what you want to become.

My star sign is Leo and my Chinese zodiac animal is a tiger so it’s no surprise if I were to choose a spirit animal it would be from the feline family. I am also a huge cat lover, and adore my cat Toots, I love all my top 5 reasons below about my cat and this convinces me that if I could select an animal as my totem it would be a cat.

My Top 5 Reasons Why My Spirit Animal Would Be A Cat

A cat’s personality is both fiercely independent and when they want to be, social and cuddly! I like this trait in cat’s and feel like this suits me to a tee, I love being an independent woman, making my own choices and being a strong role model for my children, but I like to have a cuddle and a chat, but as I’m a Leo I like it on my terms!

“In ancient times cats were worshipped as gods; they have not forgotten this.”

Before jobs and kids, way back to the teenage years and before, were the days when it was ok to have a nap during the day while reading or watching t.v. Ahh those were the carefree days when napping was permitted and even encouraged. Those days are gone now, and given the opportunity I don’t think I would have the time to take a nap, as the pressures of work and being a mum take all my time every day!  As much as I would love to have the napping life of a cat, the thought of napping on demand is that of total luxury is a fantasy that I can only dream of.

Cats have the freedom to stroll around the neighbourhood as they please and even though they will be a big part of your family, they are much more independent and free than any another pet such as a dog. This personality trait is such a draw for me as to be free and unhindered from anything is what life is all about.

Food On Demand
As cat owners we love them, look after them and feed our beloved feline’s and if your cat is anything like mine, they are fussy, very fussy. No longer will Toots settle for ‘basics’, no she expects only the best, tastiest, and usually most expensive cat food on offer! It would be so lovely to have your most favourite, tasty food ready for you whenever you like, oh the life of a cat.

The Best Veterinary Care
When you are welcome a cat into the family, the first responsible thing to do is to register your new pet with a good Vet. Unlike us our cats don’t have the benefit of the NHS to give medical care when needed, so taking out pet insurance can give you the piece of mind you are looking for if any medical problems arise.
Giving all the necessary care and attention to your cat is part and parcel of your duty of care, and finding a great Vet can make all the difference to them feeling safe and secure when they are due for a visit.
Much like when we have to go for a visit to our GP, having an attentive, empathetic and caring doctor to listen to your medical complaint and diagnose you, can make such a difference to your overall outcome. In my experience a patient and understanding Vet will calm your cat in quite a frightening and unfamiliar environment.
