Time Bomb Throwback Thursday Overnight Peel and Reveal Kit.

Last year I discovered the Time Bomb from Lulu (yes the actual Lulu!) and had real success with the Over-Exposed Sun Damage Rescue, Hand To Hand Combat Hand Cream and the ultra-moisturising Powerball moisturiser on my parched skin. The whole range concentrates on target areas of particular skin concern and I’m so pleased to say that on the 23rd March QVC are launching their new skincare product Peel & Reveal.
I always applaud any super charged exfoliation products, as at my age I find my skin needs a little extra help when it comes to refining my skin to get the ‘youthful glow’ back. Well as youthful as it’s going to get anyway! There is much to be said for that dewy radiant skin you can achieve from products such as Time Bomb’s Peel & Reveal, as not only can help lift away dead skin cells but also is very time effective as you only need to use it once a week – hence the ‘Thowback Thursday’.

What is The System?
Unlike some resurfacing ‘peels’ which leave the skin red and in some cases very sore and damaged, Peel & Reveal is a two-step at-home skincare system you can use once a week to gently remove dead skin and reveal a glowing, fresh complexion. This is not an abrasive or rough peel but a system that takes two steps – once before you go to bed and then again the following morning.
As a fickle skincare user myself and by that I mean there are some times when there is nothing I like more than to spend a long time on treatments for my skin, really take my time and use products suited and targeted to do so. Then there are the other times when I am feeling a bit lazy or am really pushed for time and I don’t want the faff of a long treatment. But I still want impressive results!
This system is a very easy two-step once-a-week routine you can do (any day of the week!) and although it works overnight it really is easy – and I like that. It’s a simple system to add to your weekly skincare regime and if you already use a night cream or serum before bed, the first step is an easy swap and the second step the next morning is simply to exfoliate with the cream. Then your done! Once a week for better looking skin – and the best thing about the Peel & Reveal is it’s an at-home treatment – saving a trip to a salon or spa.
The Two Step System
The first step is to apply a small amount of the serum (Peel AHA Serum) before you go to bed as it will go to work as you sleep. The chemical and enzyme ingredients gently yet powerfully start the exfoliating process on your skin overnight. The serum effectively helps to start the process of dead skin removal, to reveal your fresher, younger skin. It’s a very simple step as you only need a few drops for the whole face and once you apply you may feel slight tingling on the skin, which is perfectly normal. Take care to avoid the skin around the eye area and your lips as well – and wash your hands after use. It’s not a greasy or tacky feeling, in fact I noticed that it sank into my skin very easily and quickly, leaving no film. The only thing I found strange was the fact I wasn’t applying my usual night treatments on – it felt so wrong!
Once you wake the next morning what you then do is use the second step (Reveal Microdermabrasion Cream) to take away all those dead skin cells that the serum has helped to dislodge. It’s a very quick step which you can do in the shower as it only takes a couple of minutes, you just lightly dampen your face and apply about a ten pence piece of the cream to the entire face (careful to avoid your eye area) and use a circular motion all over for about two minutes. You don’t need to apply too much pressure or continue for over the two minutes as the serum has started the process the night before and you are simply removing the dead skin cells that have been dislodged. Make sure you thoroughly wash the cream off your face and follow with your usual skincare routine. The texture of the cream exfoliant is a thick white cream with very very fine micro-crystals as you would imagine from a microdermabrasion facial. The feeling on the skin is that of really fine particles – it felt finer than sand and not abrasive but it gently lifted the dead skin off my skin very well. The result once I had finished the second step was impressive as it left my skin very clean, exfoliated and soft and I can see why it’s becoming a favourite Time Bomb product.

What I really like about this system is that it is a once a week skincare treatment that really targets a specific problem, it’s very easy to use, doesn’t take much effort or ability and a little goes a long way making it very cost-effective. I find that with my skin, it’s sensitive shows some signs of sun damage and slight discolouration and finding the right products to address these issues is tricky.
Using the Peel & Reveal did help and was surprisingly gentle on my sensitive skin, and the results the next morning gave me soft, clear exfoliated skin. Exfoliated skin helps to even out any hyper-pigmentation, fine lines and even acne scars and this system while gentle did offer impressive results. It’s surprising how much more effective your skincare products will be on your skin post-exfoliation as they are absorbed more productively, giving the perfect base for applying your make-up.
Why Thowback Thursday?
Really it’s to get your ‘best-skin-look’ ready for the weekend, so you can apply the serum on Thursday night, use the cream on Friday morning before you start the day and then your newly fresh skin is revealed for the weekend ahead – including Friday night!
The duo retails at £54.00 on the Time Bomb website but stay tuned to QVC on the 23rd March for any offers or special deals they may have with the new launch.
Available from QVC from 23rd March while stocks last!

I like the sound of this, I was just talking to my mum today about chemical peels to try and get a better skin tone, I think I prefer this two step system

It's a good step if you are looking to refresh your skin without damaging as it's so gentle – so gentle that you could in fact use twice a week if needed 🙂

If you want to know if some new expensive wonder treatment really works, use it only only one side of your face. Don't worry that it might leave you looking asymmetric. It won't work! It's not meant to.

  16. March 24, 2016 / 1:26 am

    This sounds gentle but effective.

  17. March 25, 2016 / 4:04 pm

This is one of the best reviews of any product that I have read. It has answered all my questions about Peel and Reveal. It's very comprehensive and has actually convinced me that I must try it so I will be watching QVC and keeping an eye out to try it out.

  18. March 26, 2016 / 7:43 pm

    Sounds really good

  19. March 27, 2016 / 1:41 pm

  23. March 28, 2016 / 11:33 am

  24. March 29, 2016 / 11:21 am

My wife just makes sure her fluid intake is good, and uses a simple moisturiser daily. She uses a BB or CC cream in the summer. She hates spending money of stuff like this. Her skin is really good!

  25. March 29, 2016 / 11:57 pm

Not something that I would try but sounds less harsh to the skin than other products

  26. March 30, 2016 / 8:53 pm

  34. April 19, 2016 / 9:04 am

I'm a bit wary of skin masks ever since I had a nightmare in my teens about going to college still wearing one after forgetting to take it off in the morning after a big rush 😉

  35. April 20, 2016 / 7:42 pm
