Sweet 16 Birthday Gift Ideas

Sweet Sixteen Birthday Gift Ideas

When I first started looking for gifts for Siobhan’s Sweet 16th birthday I think I was overwhelmed as I just couldn’t believe that she was actually going to become a 16 year old! Where has the time gone? Every little and large gift I have wrapped has made me even more excited about her big day and I have been sharing some of my gift ideas over the last few days, take a look at my beauty  , jewellery and technology gift ideas to see what I have been putting together for her.

Sweet 16 Birthday Gift Guide Ideas

When Siobhan was six all she wanted for her birthday was curly hair! So it was a birthday visit to the hairdresser and an hour later she had lovely bouncy curls, it was so sweet. Fast-forward ten years and one of her gifts is a Diva Pro Styling Wand  £55.99 from Just My Look perfect for getting that curly look she so loves.

She has poker straight hair and isn’t it always the way you want what you don’t have, and she loves her hair curly and the multi-wand from Diva is ideal as it is really effective and easy to use (an essential teen feature!) With an automatic shut down feature I can always be reassured she won’t end up burning her dresser when she is styling her hair and I like the fact there are three different attachments for different looks, the curling wand, the waving wand and the drop curl wand. It’s safe to say this is a brilliant gift for a curl loving 16 year old and also that I will be borrowing it if she let’s me!

I don’t think there is a 16 year old without a phone these days and Siobhan is no exception, so a personalised phone case was the perfect gift for her to add her own imagery on. Albelli have a whole host of personalised photo gifts and I’m sure she is going to love putting a photo of her choice on one of their cases.  At £19.95 it’s an affordable and personal gift that she can add her favourite photo to and enjoy every day.

On this special birthday I wanted to include some personalised gifts for Siobhan and one of the things she has been asking for is a keepsake box and the Personalised 16th Birthday Keepsake Tin  £28.00 from Not On The High Street is just ideal. The size of the tin is perfect for photo’s, letters, cards and keepsakes and as it’s a birthday gift I think I will fill it with her favourites sweets! You can easily order the tin and have it personalised to whatever colour you choose (there are 16 to select) and have their name, year of birth and some words of congratulations of their or your choosing.

I know this is going to be one of the gifts that Siobhan will treasure as she has already put aside some little keepsakes as she had put a box like this one on her Christmas list. I love the retro style typography and once you have personalised the box to your wording and colour you can have it gift wrapped, tied with a raffia bow and delivered the next day if you need to.

Siobhan has a great love of cats so it was without any doubt that I needed to find some cute gifts with cats on! From The Joy Store another little Cat Memo Tin £5.00 with a handy writing pad inside great to put on her desk to jot important notes down. I loved the look of the Notes To The Future Memo Tin £5.00 the same style as the Cat Memo Tin and equally as useful and I think she will love the design. Also from The Joy Store is the cute Kat Applique Cushion £20.00 I’m sure Siobhan will love the patchwork style of design and the bright colours of the cushion will look great on her bed. The cushion has a very hand-crafted style about it and the oversized black glasses on the cat design looks really fun and a perfect gift for a cat lover.

Did I Mention Siobhan loved cats?! So much so that she has a few Grump Cat books in her collection and I knew she would love something with that cuddly cat it. The Grumpy Cat Teddy from Say It with Bears £19.95 is going to take pride of place in her bedroom as although she is turning 16 she isn’t too old for teddies yet! The teddy comes boxed ready to gift and I think it is a lovely gift for a teenage cat loving girl.

It’s a tradition that I have to buy my girls PJ’s every birthday and Christmas and these bright modern sets from Primark in collaboration with Paul Frank are perfect and fun for any teen girl. Both sets start at just £5.00 and have ‘Julius The Monkey’ the famous Paul Frank character over the material. Colourful and fun I am betting Siobhan will stay in these PJ sets for as long as she can at the weekends!

16 is the age where girls realise how useful it is to have a handbag in tow! We keep everything in them, phones, purses, headphones, it all goes in. So the Tassle & Tab Hobo Bag £16.00 from Peacocks is an ideal gift as it is easy to wear and really roomy to keep all her bits and pieces in one place, plus the tan colour and hobo design looks really on-trend and ideal for a teen.

What would a big birthday celebration be without a little chocolate? What about a Chocolate Personalised Pizza £19.99 from Prezzybox? This gift is going to delight her as it’s a combination of two teenage favourites chocolate and pizza! You can choose between six tempting flavours (I chose heavenly honeycomb) and you can personalise the pizza with a message of your choice (up to 24 characters long) to add the the centre of your chocolate pizza. I think this is a brilliant choice for a 16th birthday celebration,  fun, tasty and unique and I know that this is going to be a much loved gift that she will end up sharing with her little sister!

It’s a big change going from 15 to 16 and even though it’s only a year it is a significant transition and the Daily Greatness Journal £29.95 is a lovely gift to signify that. There are a range of different inspiring journals to choose from which are all written by Personal Growth expert Lyndelle Palmer Clarke they all follow the principles of mindfulness, positivity and have tips and tricks for personal growth and lifestyle changes. What a lovely gift to be able record her daily journey and keep track of all her goals and dreams.

An item on Siobhan’s birthday wish list was a set of lights for her bedroom and I have managed to find the most lovely set from Pom Pom Galore £25.00 the gorgeous White Pom Pom Lights. You can also choose a rainbow set which is equally as lovely, each set has 20 fairy lights and traditionally made pompoms in-between the lights.

The cable is covered with thick paper to protect it and the lights are packaged up beautifully in a circular clear box. What a lovely look it is going to give her room and I think this is the perfect gift for any 16 year old to add a little something special and as the light set is battery operated it gives some flexibility to place the set wherever you want to.

All that’s left for me to do is wrap them all up ready for her big day, I know she will love these gifts and as she is a girl who never asks me for anything she certainly deserves some special gifts.
