Summer Beauty Essentials
Summer is here (although with this weather you wouldn’t know!) and it’s time to get all the Summer beauty and body essentials ready for packing into your holiday bag. Are you going away this Summer? We are lucky enough to be going away for a week petsitting in Hythe, right by the sea we are all so excited to be going to spend some time together and have a much needed break. Once I knew we were going on a UK break I thought it was time to get my beauty kit ready to look after my skin whatever the weather.

I discovered the Pitrok Crystal Deodorant Wipes last year and love the convenience of them, the are suitable for sensitive skin and don’t contain any nasties such as parabens, SLS/SLES, silicone, Aluminium Zirconium or Chlorohydrate. They are so effective and the natural mineral salts combined with aloe vera and grapefruit seed leave the skin feeling really fresh and clean, perfect for taking to the beach with you to freshen up.
I really love to have the handy travel sized shampoo and conditioners in stock at my house ready for any last minute holidays or trips, and these Rainforest Radiance Shampoo & Conditioner Duo from The Body Shop are perfect for my travel bag. Every time I go to the Body Shop I end up buying some more as they are so handy and the Rainforest Radiance range smell so clean and fruity and leave the hair really shiny.
Trilogy is a brand I keep coming back to as I really like the results on my (ageing!) skin, I turned 41 last week (Sob!) and in the last five years I have really ramped up my anti ageing routine with products that I have found work for me. Trilogy has worked really well not only on my fine lines but on the dry areas of my skin too, the Certified Organic Rosehip Oil is so easy to use as you only need a few drops twice a day and I have included it into my Summer favourites as it really nourishes dry skin, I use it on my face and neck and my hands too. Trilogy also have an Everything Balm which I have found really good to have in my handbag, as the name suggests it is a multipurpose balm, lips, nails, dry skin anywhere that needs a little attention. It smells gorgeous too and melts on contact with the heat of your skin and sinks in really fast, a great little item to add to your holiday bag.
femfresh have brought out a new range of products and they are all ideal to pack away into your holiday bag. Known for their ‘Expert Care For Down Therefemfresh have revamped their brand with modern bright packaging but the same trusted products that really work with your body (all the products are a low PH formula) and as a woman that is so important. I have added the femfresh Freshening & Soothing Cloths and the femfresh Daily Intimate Wash to my Summer Essentials list as both are ideal for staying clean and fresh while on holiday.  They are both suitable for everyday use and the convenient wipes ideal for travel, and having a teenage daughter it is important for me to teach her good personal hygiene routines to follow early on so she can continue as part of her normal routine. Having two daughters I find it necessary and essential to talk to them about female personal hygiene and not to be embarrassed about it, the fact is products such as the femfresh range are ideal from teenage onward to keep us clean and fresh without damaging the delicate PH balance. Teaching my daughters that it is just another step of a woman’s showering routine to use a femfresh product such as the Daily Intimate Wash early on in their life set’s them up for good habits and also educates them which products are suitable for the intimate skin.
I have such pale skin that the thought of fake tan always makes me worry that it will look a bit ‘muddy’ looking, so when I recently tried the St Tropez Gradual Tan 4 in1 I was a bit skeptical. I like the way it gives a natural looking tan so you can build it up slowly to the colour you want, and it looks like lightly tanned skin, not the ‘fake’ look I was dreading. It also benefits from the 4 in 1 – Tan, Tone, Firm and Moisturise and doesn’t smell as most fake tan’s do, instead it has a much fresher Aloe Vera scent. A must have product if you are getting your legs out this Summer and if you are like me have very pale skin that needs a little help with some colour, but want to stay looking natural.
Even on a UK holiday my skin seems to suffer from dryness, all the sea air and outdoor walks takes it toll. The nourishing and rejuvenating properties of Tou Lou Moringa Seed Oil & Camellia Face Cream really makes a difference to my dry skin and I have added it to my Summer Beauty list as is is packed full of natural ingredients to help combat dry skin and also has very high anti-ageing properties too. It absorbs really well into the skin and doesn’t leave a film on the skin which is perfect if you applying makeup afterward.
I always like to have a multi purpose product which is suitable for the whole family in my travel bag and the Derma Protector Ultra Sensitive Therapy Balm from Syrinx is perfect. It’s 100% natural and free from steroids and is ideal for anyone with dry skin, very dry skin, or even eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. The Shea Butter, Zander (vitamin rich and highly protective) and tea tree oil work together to intensively nourish and protect. It has anti-septic, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, as well as extreme moisturising properties and is suitable for the whole family, no nasties at all and it works so very well a perfect addition to a holiday bag.

The gorgeous scarf in the photo’s is from Cloudberry Bags head over to my earlier post here for all the details about the fantastic range they have.

The Femfresh wipes are brilliant for camping too when your normal hygiene routine might nto be as strictly adhered too (esp if your on a basic site with loos and a tap and thats it).
