Another day, another smoothie! Today I have made this tasty Summer smoothie, perfect for any time of the day and only has a few fresh healthy ingredients, making it a quick snack to whip up. It’s a perfect way to start the day, fuelling your body for the busy day ahead with the knowledge you are drinking a smoothie packed with healthy fresh fruit and 100% pure coconut water.
I first tried coconut water last year and since then I have been addicted! It has filtered through to our whole family as we have all got into drinking it, even the children, so I wanted to incorporate a smoothie with some delicious hydrating coconut water included. If you prefer blend with almond milk, which is a great substitute.
- 1 Banana – fresh or frozen
- 1 Peach – fresh or frozen
- 5-6 large strawberries
- 100-130ml coconut water or almond milk
Add all the ingredients to the blender (I used the Bella Extract-Pro) and blend until smooth. You can add a little more of the coconut water or almond milk as you blend to get the right consistency and if you prefer your smoothie with a little added sweetener just add a teaspoon of honey or agave sugar.
This is such a fresh fruity smoothie and is a great way to start the day or a perfect go-to smoothie when the kids get home from school and are hungry before the evening meal. The beauty of this smoothie is that you can adapt it to suit your own taste by adding different berries and fruits, or if you prefer adding a scoop of protein powder before or after you have a workout.
It blends really well and gives a smooth texture, just blitz for a few extra seconds if you prefer a really smooth finish.
