Roger&Gallet: Le Soin Aura Mirabilis Skincare

Aura Mirabilis is at the epicentre of Roger & Gallet’s first skincare range, as originally it was the monks who created the powerful natural Aura Mirabilis which was used as a remedy for many topical ailments. Roger & Gallet have created this unique skincare range from the inspiration of the original natural formula (which they own the patent for) and the 18 distilled officinal plants. These natural plants are the key to the ancient and very secret restorative recipe and the blend of Aura Mirabilis within the new skincare range help to nourish and heal the skin naturally.

Roger & Gallet are well known for their incredible fragrances and body care products with so much care and attention going into using traditional distillation methods. This results in beautifully pure scents and if you have previously owned any products you will know first hand how natural the fragrances are. Established in Paris in 1862 they have a loyal global following and it’s no wonder, as each product and range have been carefully curated by traditional French perfumers. With their new launch of the Aura Mirabilis skincare range set to become firm favourites with their no-nonsense restorative natural formulas I was thrilled to try the clarifying Beauty Vinegar and the nourishing Legendary Cream.

Beauty Vinegar 200ml £15.00

Vinegar not something you would usually see in the ingredient list of a beauty product, however this formula has taken inspiration from vinegar based blends which are known to cleanse and purify gently. Using concentrates from the original 18 officinal natural plants the Beauty Vinegar, the first of it’s kind also contains fruit acids which smooth, clarify and reveal refreshed skin. It’s a beautiful solution to use and the dual phase formula is designed in such a way to use the 18 officinal natural plants as well as the fruit vinegar to very thoroughly remove make-up residue, gently lift dead skin cells, tighten open pores, as well as cooling and refreshing the face and neck. Suitable for even the most sensitive skin and for any age group.

When you first use the solution it goes on as if it were a slightly oily toner, leaving no trace after using just beautifully scented skin. It removes make-up residue on the complexion easily and without any dragging as it glides across the skin so well. The scent as I mention is really something special (fresh, natural and lightly fruity) and I can see why the range has become so very popular after trialling these two breakout products from Roger & Gallet. Using regularly the benefit is your skin will be refreshed and left soft and radiant but also the dual action of the natural fruit acids will help to reveal new skin by gently removing dull skin cells. After using the skin feels soft and smooth from the natural oils included in the formula, including apricot kernel oil, jojoba seed oil and macadamia seed oil. Anther point to mention you only need a little each time so it does go a long way and would last well, a fabulous new product from a trusted French brand.

Legendary Cream 50ml £32.00

Once you have removed the day with your cleanser and the lovely Beauty Vinegar it’s on to the next step – to nourish and hydrate your skin. Step in the Legendary Cream from the Aura Mirablis skincare range which combined with the 18 natural officinal plants, distilled plants and White Lily extract (fleur de lys) help to renew, even, illuminate and nourish the skin with the powerful formula. Again the Legendary Cream is suitable for even the most sensitive skin, it is also paraben free and dermalogically tested and ideal for any age group needing skin hydration and nourishment.  The cream contains a micro-emulsified formula which helps it sink into the skin so easily and after using my skin felt moisturised without feeling sticky or leaving a film making it ideal for using day and night.

Including white Lily within the cream helps with sensitivity, redness and irritated skin which is ideal for my skin as it is quite sensitive and I have found it ideal as not only does it hydrate and nourish well, but also it helps with cell turnover as well as illuminating. The cream has worked so well on my own skin as it leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated without feeling too heavy or oily, it sinks in quickly and is perfect for using after cleansing and before applying makeup.

It’s such an exciting skincare launch from Roger & Gallet and one to watch, it certainly doesn’t claim to turn back the years but to have the best skin you can. That’s what I have noticed trying these two products out they aim to give you the best result for your skin and that has definitely been the case for me. If you are looking for a skincare duo to refresh, hydrate and illuminate your skin then these are ideal and as they can be used on any skin type you don’t have to worry about choosing the wrong formula.

My sister made me up a little basket for my birthday recently, and it included an Aura Mirabilis extra-fine cleansing mask. I found it fabulous! I was really impressed so I can’t wait to try some of the otheer products. Thanks for this review.

They are such a trusted brand Joanne and in my opinion because it is their first skincare collection I feel that a lot of thought and planning has gone into making the products really work for your skin – a great range to try 🙂
