Orange & Berry Smoothie – My Family Ties

Packed with Vitamin C this Orange and Berry Smoothie is Summer in a glass and every time I make this for my two daughter’s it’s gone in no time, it’s a great after school standby to make as it’s nutritious, filling and quick. You can adapt this smoothie really easily by adding some natural yogurt to make a creamy, more satisfying drink or by adding some raw almonds which help to keep you fuller for longer.

What I love about this fruity smoothie is that it is so fast to make and has all natural ingredients.  We have been trying to cut back on sugary foods and drinks in our family, and this is a great alternative to a sugary drink or treat that the kids would want to reach for when they are hungry. It’s been quite hard to swap some of the sugary foods for natural alternatives, but i’ve found as smoothies are so filling and are naturally sweet even our teenage daughter is happy to swap. 

Healthy Orange & Berry Smoothie Recipe


  • 2-3 Oranges
  • I Cup raspberries
  • 1 Cup blueberries

Healthy Orange & Berry Smoothie Recipe


Remove the skin and pith from the orange, cut and quarter and add with the raspberries and blueberries into the blender ( I used the Extract-Pro from Bella Homewares) and blend until thick and smooth. If you prefer a thicker smoothie add some more of the berries and if you like a little sweetness just add a teaspoon of honey before you blend. 

Once blended to perfection, add to smoothie glasses and serve, you can add ice cubes or freeze the berries to make a cooler smoothie if you prefer.

Drink right away and enjoy!
