My Little Box
Another month, another My Little Box and this box is the My Little French Riviera Box, looking Summery and nautical with the designs on the box itself. The dreamy Summer box is in collaboration with Sarah Lavoine (‘the’ French interior designer) and exudes the feel of a French Riviera holiday should be, stylish decadent and sun filled.
Each box is carefully collated with the customer in mind, none of this throwing together any old items with little consideration if they go together or not. The products in the My Little Box have been selected with care not only to go with each month’s theme, but to ensure that they are of top quality too. As with each month there is an element of fun in the box, courtesy of the lifestyle products the stylish sunglasses and the planters duo, I really like the fact that the box isn’t exclusive to beauty products but will always contain something different for you or for the home.
With the recognisable art work from My Little Box’s own illustrator Kanako adorned on the box itself and also the Planters Duo and the literature in the box, I like the bright fun designs that are always individual to the theme of the box each month.
As always you get a magazine enclosed in the box, but I must say I do prefer the style of magazine that you can flick through (as they did have some month’s ago) rather than the open up poster that they now have in each box. I always have a good read of it and it is a mix of articles about the beauty brands which feature in the box and any designers that have collaborated too, my only gripe is the format it comes in.
Nail Polish Loved By Sarah Lavoine £6.50
First out of the box is the pretty teal nail polish in collaboration with Sarah Lovoine. It’s a gorgeous Summer colour and just a couple of coats and I was hooked! It looks stylish and very chic for Summer and is the perfect shade to represent the French Riviera. Although it has been created for the Summer I can see myself wearing this shade all year around as it is so incredibly wearable and the final look gives a lovely polished finish.
Kérastase Thermique Blow-Dry Care For Dry Hair 50ml Travel Size
It’s a brand I have used in the past with great results so when I saw the Kérastase product I was more than happy to try it out. With promises that this product from the new line by Kérastase will help keep your hair straight and encourage up to 33% faster blow drying time, I was hopeful this could help my frizz-prone hair. As with all their products the fragrance is just lovely and fresh, and I have noticed an improvement in the smoothness, speed in blow drying and overall look after using it on wet hair. A lovely new product and I am really looking forward to trying out more products from the range.
Sea Salt Fresh Scrub Gommage Martin My Little Beauty 75ml £8.50
Every month the My Little Box team include a suitable product from their in house beauty range My Little Beauty. Always of high quality and this month’s addition is no exception, a sea salt exfoliator to slough away your dead skin cells and leave you with smooth soft skin. I like the fresh fragrance and the fact you don’t need much water to help smooth it over your skin. I wouldn’t usually use such a grainy exfoliant but having said that It wasn’t scratchy or uncomfortable at all, which surprised me, and it did leave my skin very clean and smooth.
Sunglasses by Sarah Lavoine & My Little Box £18.00
Made in collaboration with one of ‘the’ French interior designers the sunglasses were always going to be the height of French chic, and an ideal companion on your Summer holiday adventures. The have an old school retro feel about them coupled with the iconic French style and are a practical yet über stylish and a perfect selection in this month’s box. They are a deep purple colour, matte look with slim arms and UV 400 protection and at £18.00 value a very handy and great value item.
Planters Duo My Little Corner £6.50
An unexpected last item was the Planter Duo from the My Little Corner range (another in house branch) with designs from Kanako to adorn your plant pots and give them a hit of French style. My problem is that we have no plant pots to use them on! That is no problem as they have a duel use as you can pack them full of beauty products for the bathroom or to hold your make up brushes in. Alternatively they can be hijacked by your daughter and used as a perfect Lego holder as mine did!
My Little Box Cotton Make-Up Bag
I say it every month but I love this addition to the monthly box, it’s useful, washable and keeps all your make-up bits and pieces together, the cotton make-up bag is a valuable product with a simple but stylish design that I would miss if they stopped adding it.
For £11.00 per month plus £3.95 postage I feel it offers good value for what you get in the box, always with top quality items and what I like about each month is the fun aspect to the box. With each theme the My Little Box team put in careful consideration to select the ideal products each month and it shines through that a lot of care and attention has been made in every box to keep the customer coming back for more.
The attention to detail, the beautiful illustrations from Kanako, the mix of beauty and lifestyle products and the unmistakable French style is the reason this beauty box has over 80,000 subscribers in France alone. I always look forward to the monthly delivery of My Little Box and the mystery that surrounds each month’s theme only draws me in even further, this month’s box has done just that and I really loved all the products, attention to detail and the Summery feel of the box, I can’t wait to see what will be in store for my next box!
