Monster High & Barbie Styling Head Review

I do so many different hairstyles having two daughters myself and as my youngest has hair down to her waist it’s no surprise that she is mad about learning new cool hairstyles to try out too. A lovely idea to help kids to try different styles and encourage them to practice to use on their own hair, is the styling heads you can buy and here are two great ones from Monster High and Barbie. It’s amazing how quickly a child can learn different hairstyles that took me as an adult ages to learn (thank goodness for You Tube!)  the styling heads are toys that really fascinate kids and I have found with my own daughters that they will play with them for hours!

Review Of The Barbie Colour, Cut & curls Styling Head and Monster High Gore-Geous Ghoul anti Styling Head by My Family Ties Blog

Monster High Gore-Geous Ghoul
The first option I have is the ever popular Monster High and the ‘Anti Styling Head’ Gore-Geous Ghoul from the glow in dark head to the huge array of styling accessories at £29.99 this is a toy that will get plenty of use as there is just so much to do. With plenty of temporary ‘ghoul’ tattoos to stick onto the styling head as well as over 30 accessories to dress up and play with and it even comes with a lip gloss for you or the styling head! You can add so many new looks by applying the make-up tattoos supplied and all you need is a little water to adhere it onto the styling head.
This is a toy which will have so much longevity as you can play with it for hours due to the huge array of fun accessories. My youngest daughter loves to play with toys that come with tattoos and make-up because it’s something different that she wouldn’t usually use or get to play with and it unleashes her creative side!
What I love about the design is that as it glows in the dark it will look fantastic in a child’s bedroom at night and the laboratory style cover makes it look really unique, I know this is a toy that my daughter would love to play with. You do get a lot for the price and the Monster High styling head is available from most retailers at £29.99 and also from Argos  Take a look at the video below for a more in-depth look at the styling head from Monster High.

Barbie Colour Cut & Curl Deluxe Styling Head
Next is the iconic Barbie Doll, and this time you can get to style her hair and put on her make-up on this fabulous Deluxe Styling Head. The styling head includes 29 accessories to style, make-up and even shorten Barbie’s hair and will give hours of entertainment for kids to play with. The Styling Head comes with a water bottle (which looks like a pretty perfume bottle) which if you add room temperature water to you can instantly ‘change’ the colour of Barbie’s eye make-up and lipstick which is a fun feature for kids to get an instant change. You can style and curl her hair easily and add the accessories to get the look you want too, the hands do move from the initial position and rotate outwards so you can do her nails too.
My youngest daughter loves to play with toys that encourage creativity and styling so this would be perfect for her, she has long hair and is always keen to learn how to do plaits, buns and fishtail styles so this is a great gift idea for kids to practice and have fun with hair and make-up.
You can buy the styling head from most leading retailers including Amazon and if your child loves to play with dolls and is an aspiring hairdresser or make-up artist this would make a great gift idea this Christmas. What a super couple! The girls all go through a hairstyling phase and, later on, a goth phase. Whoever thought of combining the two knows about children!
