Mango’s to me are so exotic and I was lucky enough to live in sunny Australia some years ago where we had several mango trees growing in the garden, they gave us an abundance of mangoes and my first taste of fresh from the tree mango smoothies. The lime and mango tastes so good together and the lime gives a zesty lift to the mango, and with some natural yogurt as well it adds a creaminess to the smoothie.
1/2 – 1 lime, juiced
3-4 tablespoons of natural yogurt
After removing the flesh of the mango from the stone and skin, add to the blender ( I used the Extract-Pro From Bella Homewares) with the juice of the lime and natural yogurt, blend until smooth. If you prefer to you can substitute the natural yogurt with some almond milk which works really well with the combination of mango and lime too.
If you want to add a little more sweetness to the smoothie just add a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup before blending.
You can add ice to the blended smoothie once you have got the desired consistency, or you could cube the mango and freeze instead for a chilled smoothie.
I am loving these Mason Jars which I found at our local TK Maxx and the kids love the bendy, twisty straws that came with them, they are just perfect for smoothies and shakes.
Serve and enjoy!
