Jevelo Bespoke Jewellery Review

Personalised jewelry is something I treasure, wearing a piece of jewellery that has been lovingly created for you with a special memory attached to it turns it from a beautiful piece to a treasured piece. Each time I pick up a necklace or bracelet to wear which has some special meaning to it I am conscious of the love behind it all day, some of my most treasured items are those personalised by my OH and our children and each time I wear them I think of them. So when Jevelo approached me to review a piece of their very unique personalised jewellery I was more than happy to trial the service. It’s quite like no other I have come across as you can have your own image engraved onto a shaped pendant of your choice.

The possibilities are really endless as you can have any image you like engraved onto your pendant, or if you have a favourite design or logo you could add that too. You can even get creative and hand design your necklace, the key to this service is in the form of a very easy to navigate app. This is the first time I have used a bespoke service such as Jevelo and once I had downloaded the app onto my phone, I had a good look through the selections (which other users have uploaded) to see if I wanted to choose a pre-existing design or pattern or if I wanted to use my own photo or design.

This for me was the most tricky aspect of the whole service as I have lots of photos of my two girls which I love and choosing between them was so hard! After much deliberation and trying out lots of different photos I decided that a photo of my OH and I in a rare photo together (as I am always behind the camera!) and I’m so glad I did as I love the way it has turned out. I’m a typical mum who loves photography, always snapping away on my camera or iphone and I forget to include a few with me in them! My girls are always reminding me to get in the shot and the photo I chose is one of my favourite photo’s of us a couple.

Once you have the app on your phone if you want to use your own photo as I have done, all you need to do is download the photo in-app, resize if necessary and then you can choose your size and finish. You can adjust the depth of contrast on your photo, choose between a diamond, ellipse, rectangle, circle or square design and a silver or steel finish to your pendant. When you are happy with all the design particulars you can preview the finished pendant on the app and if you want to view your piece a little closer, just tap on the picture to move it around as you can get a 360 degree view of your personalised pendant before you purchase. If you are happy with the design all you need to do is save it and you will see it added to the navigator at the bottom of the app ‘My Designs’ where you can create as many as you like and save them for later if you prefer.

Once I had ordered my design it took only five days to arrive and cost £70.50, it came housed in a thick envelope and secured on a black card and I have to say I really love the end result. The only thing that was missing I felt was the chain to add the pendant onto, I think this is something that should be made a little clearer when you order the piece as I would have loved to wear it right away but I had to wait to purchase a chain which fitted.

This would make a very thoughtful gift idea and using the app makes light work of designing your masterpiece. What I really like is the fact you can use your favourite photo’s or get creative and design the pendant yourself, the limits are endless and you could even incorporate some of your children’s artwork into your design, which would be a lovely way to immortalise a treasured drawing from your kids. If you really can’t find the right photo or design for your piece don’t worry as there are plenty of amazing designs in the ‘Marketplace’ in-app which you can easily choose and add to your checkout. This really is a very bespoke service with you the customer behind the design – jewelery you create from Jevelo is a perfect way to create a very personal design in a fast efficient way.
