His & Hers Valentine Ideas From Getting Personal

It’s nearly that time again to find a special gift for your loved one and this year I have spotted two really lovely ideas for Valentine’s Day from Getting Personal for him and for her. It takes a month or two for me to leave some subtle hints to my OH what I may love to receive on February 14th, you know the sort – leaving magazine pages open on a certain item, or leaving the product page open on the PC! I know this may sound a little outrageous of me, but he himself let’s me know he is glad of a little gifting guidance when it comes to special occasions, yes he knows all the little things I like after 16 years together, but it’s those unusual personalised ideas that he needs a little nudge with.

I really love a personalised gift from my family, and my favourite gifts have been specially thought out gifts with words or phrases printed on from my loved ones. If you have had a look at the Getting Personal website you will have noticed the huge array of gift ideas for every price point, for young and old alike. There are so many ideas to have your message inscribed on and my two favourite ideas to gift to your Valentine are the Personalised Mini Russian Ring Necklace for her and the Personalised Onyx Men’s Dressing Box for him.

From Posh Totty Designs the Personalised Mini Russian Ring Necklace is a beautiful idea for her this year, a new twist on the classic Russian necklace with the addition of your own personal text on each of the three rings. You can opt for Sterling Silver, Yellow or Rose Gold Plated and have up to nine characters on each ring, and each ring is 1.3cm in diameter. I chose to have both my daughters names and my OH’s name added and the dainty lettering looks just beautiful. This is such a delicate piece of jewellery and you can choose to have a number of different lengths and either a thin or thick chain too.

When you are going through the process of the order you just have to decide which of the three finishes you would like, the length of the chain, the thickness of the chain and of course what text you would like to appear on the three individual rings. I did nearly opt for just the initials of the three names and I think this would be a great alternative for a special gift as well as the names themselves.  I shall treasure this necklace of course as it has the names of lovely kids and OH and the delicate nature of the piece makes me love it even more! I think it makes a brilliant Valentine gift as you can personalise it to your taste and also that it comes presented in a lovely box ready to gift as it is, or just add a red bow to the top!

For the man in your life this Valentine my suggestion is this very striking Personalised Onyx Men’s Dressing Box it is such a stunning piece and the beauty of this is that you can add a personal message on the lid of the box. I always find that my OH tends to loose his most important items such as his car keys and his watch, he seems to put them down somewhere and then we spend ages searching the house for them! This nifty onyx box can make sure he keeps them safe and in one place – no more loosing those essential items!

The box itself measures 7.2cm (height)  x 17.7cm (width) x 11.7cm (depth) and is made from softwood and plywood and finished in onyx black, with an ivory coloured felt lining the interior of the box. The lid is hinged and the addition of the alloy strip which you can personalise with your own sentiment gives the box a lovely vintage feel. You can choose up to 24 characters to personalise the box and I found this the most difficult part as you have to be so succinct! This could be a box to house any treasured items for the man in your life and I think it is a gorgeous idea for a special gift this Valentine’s Day and I am excited to see what my OH thinks of it on February 14th! Not only would this make a thoughtful Valentine gift but a really great Father’s Day gift too.
