Halloween Party Games From Megableu

Creepy Hand & Ghost Hunt From Megableu

We have been getting into the Halloween spirit by playing some fun games from Megableu – Ghost Hunt and Creepy Hand, they have been so much fun and we have had a hilarious few days playing with them as a family. It’s such a great way to spend some time with the kids and a real bonding experience to play a game or two together and these two Halloween inspired games were very well received by our two girls, and considering they are such different ages (9 and 16) it’s quite a tall order to have games which they both love.

Megableu Games review of Creepy Hand and Ghost Hunt

The Ghost Hunt game ( available from Amazon for £29.99) is a fun game to be played in the dark, don’t forget you need to have batteries ready to play it so bear this in mind if you do decide to buy. Billy Bones is the skeleton head that moves his head around and you the player have the ‘ghost busting’ gun to zap the ghouls that are projected from Billy bones’s eyes.

The aim of the game is to zap as many of the ghosts as possible in the time Billy Bones gives you and you can work at three levels , easy, medium and hard. It’s a fun game as you all play in the dark and you can take it in turns so everyone gets to have a go. Every time you hear Billy Bones scream you know you have managed to capture a ghost and the tally is kept on the ghost gun display so you can see who is winning in the ghost busting stakes.

The game is aimed at 5+ and even though Siobhan is 16 she had great fun taking turns and playing in the dark with us all, I would recommend you get it all set up and put the batteries in ready to play – you will need 4 AAA and 3 AA for the gun and the Billy Bones head, as my two were getting impatient waiting for me to set it all up! A really different interactive fun game that kids will love as it is in the dark and a lot fun. The only thing I would say is a bit of a negative point is that the game comes with a pair of 3D style cardboard glasses, which when the ghosts are projected onto the walls makes them really hard to shoot as you are seeing multiple ghosts through the glasses. It works better without them so I’m not sure why they are included, perhaps to make the game harder?

Creepy Hand is also from Megableu (available from Amazon for £24.99) and we played this after a breather from shooting all the ghouls with Ghost Hunt, another really fun game that we enjoyed playing together that was different and got us all laughing. It’s based on the ‘truth or dare’ game or ‘spin the bottle’ but this time it’s the Creepy Hand that spins around and points to the player who is ‘chosen’ next. Once you have been chosen you have to answer a truth or dare question or forfeit to do a specific task, we had a lot of laughs doing this and it would be a perfect game for Christmas afternoon if you are looking for a family game which is a little different.

The Creepy Hand itself works well on a smooth surface such as a table or floor but not a carpeted surface, the girls loved it as it looks like ‘Thing’ from the Addams Family! Don’t forget that it takes 3 AA batteries which you have to supply but once you have them installed it’s ready to play. Some of the examples of the ‘Truth’ questions are “If a movie was made of your life, who would play you?’ and “Have you ever had a nickname?” and if you decide you don’t want to tell your truth you can either take the dare or the forfeit on the card.

If you choose the ‘Dare’ you will get dares such as “Recite the 8 times table” or “Pretend to be a performing seal” you can imagine how fun this is when you play it all together as a family! If you can’t face either the truth or the dare on the card you will have to opt for a forfeit and some examples of them are “Name the last three Prime Ministers of the UK” or “Count to ten in a foreign language”.  The first player to ‘win’ 6 cards is crowned the winner, and it’s a fun journey to get there as we were laughing so much throughout the game.

The game is age 7+ and is a fun game you can play together and we spent over an hour playing as it was so much fun on our first go. The kids really enjoyed both games and we had a lot of laughs playing, if you are looking for some family games both are ideal, both games are reduced on Amazon at the moment and Megableu have many other fun games in the range too.

The Creepy Hand game looks great, scary and silly. And boring forfeits for me to fail at.

It's great to see such different games being produced these days. I especially like those that rely on chance not skill as the whole family can play together.
