Forever Memory Bears – Free £35 Gift Card For All Readers

As the girls have grown up there are always a few items of clothes that I just can’t let go, a few favourites that have a special memory or meaning. But what do you do with them? How do you preserve them so you and your child can treasure them other than keeping them in a memory box which hardly sees the light of day? I had been pondering on this for quite some time until I came across Forever Memory Bears and their genius hand crafted solutions.

Once you have a collection of clothing items you can use the Forever Memory Bears expertise to transform the pieces into the most lovable and permanent reminder of their most favourite treasured clothes. No more stashing them away for safekeeping as they can proudly have their Forever Memory Bear on display to cherish forever with a collection of their most loved clothing on show for all to see.

Based in Hampshire the hand crafted bears have a lot of care and thought poured into each one, as once you have sent in your chosen items of clothing the process begins and each bear takes between 5-8 hours to make. I love that each and every bear they make will tell a different story, the options are endless really as you could have a bear made with baby clothes, school uniforms, favourite clothes or even clothes of departed loved one. This would have been the most perfect idea for my nephew when his mum died 11 years ago as we could have used some of her favourite clothes for him to remember her by, it really is a lovely way to preserve precious memories forever.

I think what makes this service different is the complete unique aspect of each bear, it will be all about the recipient. Every bear will have an individual design with the clothes that you send in and you can even have some special words embroidered onto the footpads, one of your child’s drawings captured on the bear or include a voice recording – or all three! It’s a lovely way to have a collection of special items all in one place to treasure. Once all the hard work is done and your bear is finished (about 14 days) your child will receive the bear housed in a specially made gift box with a certificate ready to be loved and have a special place in their bedroom.

Below are two examples of finished bears/bunnies with their individually chosen clothes and fabrics from two different families – I think you will agree they look gorgeous and would be welcomed into any home! What a lovely idea it would be to gift a bunny for Easter instead/as well as! an Easter egg this year, utterly personal and such a treasure! This would be a joy to find on an Easter egg hunt and what a surprise for any child too.

The girls and I had a lovely time deciding upon which items to include to make their bears and they had very different ideas about what they may want! Lara our youngest (9) loves patterns and chose some of her most loved clothes which don’t fit her any longer but she just can’t bear to let them go! Like any nine year old girl she loves her soft toys and being a part of creating a new bear that is unique to her is so exciting – she just can’t wait to see the finished product.

Siobhan our oldest (16) really isn’t a huge fashion fan and let’s clothing come and go with no problem. She has autism and she loves the feeling of really soft materials so we had the brainwave that the ‘softy squares’ she had ready to make a cushion (or rather for me to make!) would be a really good addition to make a bear. Siobhan put together her favourite top (which is far too small for her now) with a New Zealand silver fern motif on (a place she loves as her dad is from NZ) and clothes that are the perfect ‘feel’ for her which she just can’t let go.  I think her choices will be just perfect for her own unique bear and I’m really looking forward to her final product!

The bears are from £65 depending on personalisation, and I think this offers very good value for money considering the work that goes into each and every bear. If you are thinking of creating your own Forever Memory Bear I have a free gift card worth £35.00 for all my readers, all you need to do is add MyFamilyTies gift card code into the checkout to redeem.
