HelloFresh Chicken Satay Kebabs: Family Box

It’s been a busy week and with our youngest back to school and the HelloFresh delivery of a tasty Family Box was perfect timing to change mealtimes up a little and give the family some new dishes to try. We have been trying out some made-for-families food boxes from HelloFresh and one of my favourites was this tasty Chicken Satay Kebabs recipe from the Family Box. Easy to follow and make and even more fun when I had two keen helpers in the kitchen who were happy to chop, taste and cook the meal with me. Since our introduction to HelloFresh we have tried some varied tasty family meals, all come with fresh ingredients and a recipe card to follow along and the only component you need to add is water as everything is supplied to make each recipe. We made Beef Roly Polys Mexican Style  Oven baked Greek Meatballs and Spiced Chicken With Coconut Rice from the Family Box already and we have found it very easy and user friendly to follow and very tasty too. The Spiced Chicken was a little too spicy for the kids (although the adults loved it!) but it’s all trial and error and it was good for us to try something out of the kids comfort zone, even if it was a little spicy.

Chicken Satay Kebabs With Basmati Rice and Cucumber Salad

The Chicken Satay Kebab recipe with Basmati Rice and Cucumber Salad took about 50 minutes from start to finish and as I have said in my previous HelloFresh review posts, there are plenty of leftovers so don’t worry about the portions being too small as they are very generous. With 11 components and a recipe card to follow you can’t go wrong as all the measuring and weighing has been done for you, all you need is to add some water. I like the fact the HelloFresh team add photos to follow on the recipe card as it helps while you are making the dishes and the kids really found this feature helpful when helping me make the recipes.

After making the family inspired meal we sat down to eat and we all thought it was really tasty and a great idea for the satay sauce that went down so well with our family. Strangely our teen really liked the cucumber with soy sauce and lime juice as usually she would never touch cucumber, so it just goes to show if you keep trying foods out but in a different style kids *may* grow to like them. The dish is a little spicy but not too hot for the kids and another recipe which we will certainly make again . I have a few more recipes to share over the next few days so look out for some more tasty family meals.

Oh wow these seem like a fab idea, I cook for very fussy children and normally several different meals would be nice to make something we all eat
