This Summer my OH decided to forgo the daily shave and grow a beard for the first time, because he works away a lot it was much more noticeable to me and after just a few weeks of beard watch it was time for the scratchy beard to go! As he has never had a beard before I wasn’t sure I would like it and I’m not going to lie it was a bit scratchy, he liked it to begin with but toward the end he found it was getting quite uncomfortable and itchy.
My OH loved it though and wanted a ‘Duck Dynasty’ style do, but in the end he decided to have a clean shave mainly for looking a little more sharp at work and as I had been sent some Gillette products to review it was the perfect time to try them out.
I’ve seen the adverts for the Gillette Fusion Proglide and it does claim to give the best shave ever, and also with the thinnest blades they have bought out much less tug and pull as well. Needless to say once my OH had trimmed down his beard and used the Gillette Fusion Proglide he did get a really close smooth shave and noticed a difference in with the flex ball giving an easier shaving experience as it moves and glides over the face. Pairing the Flexball with the Proglide Gel his beard was history (no more scratchy kisses!) and he has become a convert to the Proglide Gel as he found it easy to use and very hydrating on his skin.
My OH never uses anything like moisturiser on his face but the Gillette Intense Cooling Balm changed his mind a little as after shaving it cooled and soothed his skin even after de-bearding! It’s very lightweight and non-sticky which is ideal to give a matte finish as well as having very soothing and calming properties.
Now the beard has gone he does miss it now and I think he will start again especially with the cold weather coming up! I think I will stock up on the Gillette range anyway though as they are good value and do the job really well.
