Autumn Boots with StartRite – My Family Ties

StartRite Boots

This time of year rolls around so very quickly, and it’s time to think about buying the girls a pair of boots to keep the Autumn chill out.  Their shoe sizes are growing so fast that it would be crazy of me to think they would fit into last years boots!

StartRite shoes and boots are synonymous with quality and durability, and having bought Siobhan shoes from the brand before I was keen to get some boots for each of the girls from StartRite.  I wanted boots that were going to last through the Autumn and Winter that would be comfortable and keep them warm and dry.

When you visit the website, all the information you need is easy to navigate, and a service that I find really useful is the ‘measuring at home’ page, with a really handy paper measuring gauge which you can download and then measure your child’s foot at home. Very useful if you haven’t the time to go into a branch to get your children’s shoes or boots fitted.

We decided upon the Aqua Gem-Stones Leather Dark Red Boots for Lara, my youngest, she was over the moon that they were a different colour as last year we had bought her a black pair of boots.  All the little details were an instant winner with Lara, she liked the added buckles on the side and all the little gemstones just finished the boots off perfectly.
Lara loves to buy new shoes and boots and we can picture her when she is older to have a giant walk in wardrobe full of them! So she was eagerly anticipating the delivery from StartRite, when it came she put them straight on, and loves them.
Priced at £67 these Aqua Gem-Stone boots have a zip on the inner leg, and were easy for Lara to slip on and off, this is a really important feature to me as there is nothing worse than a poorly designed children’s boot that takes ages to pull on and off.
A combination of leather and suede these boots are breathable and waterproof, and also surprisingly very lightweight. The boots come in a variety of sizes and widths and have three attractive and functional buckles down the outer side of the boot.  Last but not least are the gemstones that run down the outer side in a stripe, they are eye-catching and very pretty, a winner in the eyes of Lara, she loved this touch as it gave them that extra bit of something special.

For Siobhan our teen daughter we chose the Gallop Tan Boot in Burnished leather it’s always tricky to buy for Siobhan as she is not at all interested in clothes and footwear, but she was really taken with the colour (not black!) and also the style.  What Siobhan liked was the un-fussy look of these boots coupled with the classic riding boot style.  I was really happy that she liked them, as quite often we do find a pair of shoes or boots which we think she will love and they just sit in her wardrobe gathering dust!
The Gallop Tan boots were priced at £68 come in a wide variety of sizes and widths, and have a zip fastening to the inside of the leg, a leather lining and soft leather upper, and a lightweight rubber sole.
Siobhan found these boots easy to put on and to do up, which she does sometimes find quite hard as she has dyspraxia and autism so finds co-ordination tricky.  The buckle’s on the outer side of the boot (one on the top and one on the bottom) give a little extra room if needed and are an attractive finish to the boot.

Both boots from my point of view are excellent quality, fit really well, which is so important with their young feet still growing, and are so functional and practical, as well as looking very stylish.  The OH is always trying to persuade the girls (and me!) to choose function over fashion, but even he was really impressed with the overall quality and style of both boots, and had to agree that they included his essential component function, and what we ladies are usually looking for, a great style of boot!
Do you find it tricky to find suitable footwear for your children at this time of year? I have to say it is a tick off my list of Autumn essentials to get for my girls, and I am so glad that I chose these StartRite boots for their quality and their style.
